Edinburgh Band To Perform Debut Album Live At The Fringe

The Exile Band from Origin Scotland is to perform most of the tracks from its debut album live in a two-night special at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009 entitled un|broken LIVE.

Recorded in January 2009 and recently released, the album features the unique sound of Origin's band and choir in a mix of styles from classical through to blues.

"I don't know of any band in the UK at the moment producing as varied a sound as this one" said Colin Peckham, Origin's artistic director. "The guys in the band are some of the most talented I have ever worked for, and the new album is something special."

Using the song writing and performance talents of Mark Calder, Rebecca Hardie and Steph McLeod, a selection of the twelve songs on the album will be performed in a Fringe show at venue 251 on West Rose Street on Fri 21st and Sat 22nd August at 7pm. Tickets (£6, £5 concessions) are available through the Fringe Box Office and at the door.

About the Exile Band
The band was formed in 1997 as the main performance medium for Origin Scotland, a church-based organisation in Edinburgh, Scotland. Along with the usual guitars, keyboards and drums, the band also uses a Hammond organ, percussion section, strings, brass and wind instruments. They use a small choir for backing vocals.
